Interview with Ted Siff of the Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 — Sarah Orman

Ted Siff, COO of the Texas School Administrators' Legal Digest

As we celebrate the launch of our new website, here are a few thoughts from Ted Siff, regarding the new and improved www.legaldigest.com.

Q.  How is the new website different from the old one?

A.  We now have editorial content.  The former website did not.  We hope this will become quite valuable to our viewers and readers.  Also, the new website is much more user-friendly.  We’ve improved online registration for conferences and workshops, and our online store is easier to use.  We hope www.legaldigest.com will be viewed as welcoming, attractive, very informative and a useful tool for keeping up with education law and for professional development.

Q.  How do you hope people will use the new website?  Who will it be most helpful to?

A.  We hope people will use the new website as a dynamic resource for keeping up to date on the state of education law in Texas.  Traditionally, the people who run Texas public schools make up our biggest audience: administrators, educators and school board members.  Attorneys also use us as a resource.  Anyone who needs to know about recent changes in education law will benefit from our website.

Q.  What other improvements or new products or services can we expect to see in the future?

A.  We have lots of ideas and new products on the horizon.  I’m most excited right now about our new series of DVDs, which will include valuable training material on a variety of topics—special education, employment, FERPA and more.  We also plan to keep expanding the editorial content available on the website.  In addition to reporting on recent decisions, etc., which is also available in the print edition of the Texas School Administrators’ Legal Digest, eventually visitors to our website will find web exclusive material such as interviews with legal experts on timely and important issues.

Q.  Anything else you’d like to add?

A.  Just that we hope our new website will be a welcoming and informative resource for Texas educators.
