This month’s recipient of Postscripts Fresh Ideas recognition goes Arp Independent School District for being named second best in the nation for small school districts in their innovative use of technology. The National School Board Association and Center for Digital Education chose Arp ISD through its annual Digital School District survey. The Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) reports that Arp ISD’s technology program has 1,300 devices available for students and teachers and offers technology training for teachers, students and parents. According to Arp ISD technology leaders keys to success include developing a clear vision for use of technology, connect with other tech educators, stay informed on innovative uses of technology, and continue to evaluate needs of the students and staff. For more on how to incorporate technology in your classrooms, go to TCEA’s website at http://www.tcea.org/.
